Puzzle adventure set in ancient lands

The Atlantis theme has probably been done to death by developers but there are still some ways to keep it interesting.

The Call of Atlantis attempts to do so by blending 3 different game types into one as you embark on a voyage around ancient civilizations in your bid to save the legendary continent. The Call of Atlantis combines 3 popular game types namely Match-3, Hidden Object and Adventure. Your voyage through the game takes you to Rome, Greece, Troy, Phoenicia, Babylon, Egypt and Carthage, where you have to acquire seven mysterious crystals of power. Your ultimate aim is to appease Poseidon, the patron god of the Atlanteans, and thus save the legendary continent.

The Call of Atlantis is a beautifully-illustrated game featuring some superb graphics and story narration in both text and audio form. The introduction sequences between each segment can get a bit annoying but you can skip them if you want. The gameplay varies between either match-3 puzzles, finding hidden objects, and trying to use objects in the correct combination during your adventure. The initial stages are very easy and a bit pointless as it more or less involves matching objects of the same color with their place on the scene in front of you.

However, when the real journey begins, things become a bit more interesting where you'll need to win match-3 games to boost your points total, and move to the next adventure. The graphics throughout The Call of Atlantis are superb and it's an ideal program for kids, or anyone that wants to learn a little about the ancient civilizations while having fun at the same time.

Varied game play, great graphics and sound and an involving plot combine to make The Call of Atlantis a great little game.
